I feel retarded… for taking the entire night to design and program the menu screen for my group’s game.
the presentation is tomorrow.
and I’m crossing my fingers..

anyway
here’re some screenshots from what I did..
it’s kinda cute~ haha

(I used whatever there are to come out with this interface… the background was a 3d model by Simin… and the rest was randomly put together by the basics u can get from photoshop)

i thought it looked really cool from this angle, so I simply added the game’s title “Fellowship of the Rodents”.
haha… I love the position of the label
only members of the fellowship will be able to see! – unless u cheat & bend over.

a really simple interface in which the user can navigate with cursor keys

my overly cluttered HELP SCREEN
i really meant to help :D

omg, this is going to be the most amount of effort and time that I ever put into anything related to Computer Engineering.

The main reason – It’s much more interesting, and I can put in anything I want!

here’s some of my works.
They are ridiculously hideous, but I still think my red chair is cute. It’s made up of ellipsoids and paraboloids – i.e. it’s purely constructed with mathematical formulas!
I’m god! hahahhaha

(Acutally, anyone in my course can flick/snap/twist their fingers and produce something a million times more complicated than my “designer” chair) :D

Here’s the chair i made for one of the assignments. I love the metallic feel and the butt groove that i created! Homer might like it, it’ll fit his!

I prefer the red one! It’s the same design, but I just like it red.
and when it’s transparent, it looks superbly in sync with the future! hurhurhur~

still sufferring from headache..but a joyful one!

i got my first choice in FYP selection!

Here’s my project!

Virtual life in the virtual campus of NTU.
Proj Summary Virtual Campus of NTU [1] is a shared virtual world built with Virtual Reality Modeling Language [2] and Blaxxun Contact 7 Communication Platform [3]. It is a virtual model of the real campus of Nanyang Technological University. In this cyberspace, visitors can turn themselves into virtually anything. Some choose to look like fancy-dressed people, some turn themselves into sports cars, and some appear as sparkling clouds or fire-balls. There are also bots (robots) living in the Virtual Campus. These are avatars of students and professors who walk back and fourth between lecture theatres, libraries, and student hostels. There are also birds hovering in the sky and cars riding by the roads.

In this project, the student has to design and develop an artificial life in the virtual campus which will be synchronously and asynchronously available for different users. The existing 3D avatar library of the virtual campus is to be extended and further improved. Crowds of the avatars are to be programmed to move to the designated directions from time-to-time and according to the actual timing for different activities such as lectures, functions, physical exercises, studying, leisure, etc. The designed models should be able to animate a large number of avatars while still maintaining the interactivity of the multi-user virtual environment.
Adding an element of fun to this virtual life by implementing VRML game components is yet another possible direction of this project.
