Today, I went along with the school on a Learning Journey to the National Museum. It was reconstructed (I don’t know if this is the correct word) and looks really modern now.
Although it sounds like something that’s good, I still think the old colonial feel I had gotten from my secondary school excursion there felt more “right” than the “new” one.
I reached early (all thanks to my cute little Vespa and my “ahmad”) and was sitting outside the museum that was still closed.
It opens at 10am.
While waiting, I was treated to a fogging session and I seriously felt like a mosquito for the few minutes when I was engulfed in the smog.
We entered the museum and walked through Singapore’s history – and viewed other interesting exhibitions like the Voom Portrait exhibition! You should take a look when you’re free though it’ll cost you ten bucks!
This is one of the exhibit in the Singapore’s history section.
It’s a hearse from a Chinese funeral procession.
I couldn’t get a non-blurred image of this hearse.
I was sitting by the stairs in front of this main entrance to the museum.
The rotunda in the museum.
The stained glass weren’t that magnificent but nice enough.
Quoting the guide, this is the “haunted spiral staircase” of the museum.
I don’t know why but I liked this area a alot.
The museum had kept this part of the building free for people to hold functions like book-signing.

The same area as above.
Outdoor function area.
The guide was telling us that this can be used as a backdrop for photographing.
A Vespa exhibit.
I would love tassels for my cute little bike too.
Nice chairs eh?
